Harvest Pizzeria

Tonight I went to Harvest Pizzeria in German Village and I'm not even kidding, its already my new favorite place. It was THAT good. We almost didn't go because we were running short on time for our movie (Our Idiot Brother-great. See it. This weekend.)

So here's the thing, the last 'new' wood-fired pizza place we went to was good, but it was SLOOOOOW. At Harvest Pizzeria they were fairly busy and really pretty quick considering. We had the Margherita pizza (above) and the Ohio Bacon pizza (below) and seriously, from the first bite we were hooked.

The crust is perfectly smokey and the sauce....ohmyword, that sauce. I would eat it with a spoon. The cheese was fresh, really fresh and the bacon on the 'Ohio Bacon' pizza was flavorful and not at all greasy.

And, I mean, come on, they serve their beer in mason jars. I'm a sucker for that kind of kitsch.

Oh, and the 1/2 Caesar salad was still a nice sized portion and really great. The dressing was obviously freshly made and had a nice kick to it. Oh, and those crouton thingys: cheesy, so yeah. Bonus.

Did I mention that whenever possible they try to use all local ingredients? So their menu will change based on the season. OBVIOUSLY, I'll have to keep coming back to 'review' them all.

They have a really nice little patio. Low key, with nice picnic tables and a little raised off the street, which was nice. It was a nice Friday night.

Oh, yeah, and Ben is here and that's just a whole buncha fun.

Go see for yourself. I'm still thinking about the sauce.
