# 60, Rubino's Pizza

Rubino's Pizza and Spaghetti is exactly what is says it is. Pizza and Spaghetti and a gigantic (generic) Italian Salad. Or a small, if that's how you roll. The atmosphere is very small town, family establishment and I mean that in a good way.

Large Pizza ($11.95), with Peperoni and Banana Peppers.

The Large Italian Salad, $3.95

Notice the water pitcher on the table, and the disposable cups. Seriously, no frills.
When we walked in the place was pretty busy just two empty tables. The crowd was mostly young adults, a lot of them in Jerseys's looking like they'd been tailgating all day, and a few younger couples. It's a small restaurant and the kitchen is right there in plane view. So is the carry out counter, they put the pizza on a piece of cardboard laying flat in a big white paper bag. No boxes. We're guessing this place is almost entirely profit.

We ordered two large pizzas, and a large Italian Salad. I debated on ordering the Spaghetti with Meatball (that's right, Spaghetti with one gigantic meatball) and decided to just go for the pizza. It wasn't really a difficult decision. Pizza or Spaghetti really are THE options. We had a large Peperoni with Banana peppers, and a large "Everything," IE: Supreme, The Works etc., etc.

The salad wasn't bad considering it was mostly iceberg lettuce, a few olives and some nothing special peperoni. The dressing is what made it, and really, it was about what I expected for a $4 dollar, serves 4 people salad in a pizza place.

Personally, I thought the pizza was great. It's super thin crust, almost like a cracker. I'm a big fan of thin crust pizza and almost never get it because I might be the only one (am I??). Another bonus, the pizza had a decent amount of slightly sweet but not sugar sweet sauce. The sausage on the "Everything," pizza was interesting. It had a nice bite too it and there was a lot of it.

The banana peppers on the other pizza were especially good and tasted really fresh, as opposed to tasting like some kind of canned nonsense. The peperoni, was peperoni. Not my favorite topping really, but everyone seemed to like.

As we were leaving we saw them bring out an order of the Spaghetti and Meatball for another table. It looked delicious. Simple, piping hot, and it smelled really good. I can't stop thinking about it.

All in all, not a bad place. We just had water (doesn't look like they serve alcohol) so our dinner (for four people) cost $28. (By the way...Rubinos is Cash Only!).That's a salad and enough pizza to feed four adults for less than $7 per person. Not too shabby. Great Pizza, thin crust that's not too filling, and a good price. I'll go back.

Plus, we had room for ICE CREAM!

Graeters Toffee Chip. So good.
I still can't belive that Jeni's Ice Cream has seperate locations listed on the Top 100 of Columbus Restaurants, and Graeters isn't listed a single time. Jeni's is great, I have a couple of flavors in my freezer now (Thanks Lakshmi and Annie) but as we learned Saturday night, Graeters started the same year as The Ohio State University. It's been around THAT long. How is it not a favorite? Have you people not tried the Black Raspberry Chip?
